MEET THE GUEST:

Jana Roller is a boudoir photographer and empowerment advocate. She struggled with her weight and binge eating after a series of traumatic events but has since taken her story and used it to not only lose 140 pounds but to also help be a beacon of light for those women still in the dark. In fact, she doesn’t even call what she does “photography” anymore, but instead, “Body Acceptance Therapy”. She’s an incredible example of strength and resiliency and has since been featured on The Doctors and Shape Magazine just to name a few!

  • We discuss the traumas of Jana’s past and how it attributed to her weight gain.
  • Jana talked about melding her two businesses and passions together to create her current brand. She is a certified personal trainer but also a photographer and empowerment coach and has blended the two together to create what she calls, “Body Acceptance Therapy”.
  • She opens up about her past issues with anger and self-hate from the trauma as she carried a lot of the guilt initially, but is using her story and her platform as a beacon to help others heal.

  • We then shift to time management. She is a service based business owner and in turn have to fit in health, motherhood, relationships, work… and so to keep track she emphasizes the importance of planning in advance. She plans each month out and eventually in time everything came into harmony.

  • We then discuss a woman’s tendency to let go rather than take care. Jana mentions that it is in our DNA to help and care and that it makes us feel loved when we help.
